Developing frameworks to support open source software

Hosted by Crown Commercial Services

Summary

Acquiring open source is quite different to traditional proprietary software and the current government frameworks commonly used are not geared toward this.

Our procurement workshop brings together experts from industry and government to identify barriers with the acquisition of the services required to develop, deploy and maintain professional solutions based around free and open source software.

Following the 2 hour meeting, participants are encouraged to meet up for networking and further discussion.

Intended participants

If you are involved in procurement or have expertise to offer that could help remove barriers from the procuring of professional open source services and solutions, this event may be for you.

The event is open to OpenUK members, public sector representatives and by personal invitation.

Objective

To construct a programme of activities that will identify barriers to public sector acquisition of professional open source solution, then determine actions that can remove the barriers
